Does Cathar's crusade ability trigger on every creature?
Asked by masaojp 12 years ago
If I have a Cathar's crusade in play and some token creatures already on play. So I populate let's say, 5 creatures, will the 5 creatures that entered the battlefield get's +5/+5 counters? Or just the other creatures? My reasoning is that, the card says " Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, put a +1/+1 on each creature you control"So First the creature has to enter under my control, then the ability resolves, and since the creature is under my control, the ability will trigget on the creature that entered as well.
Populate was a Bad example. If say I have a total of 3 white mana costs on the battlefiled,Honor of the Pure , 2x card:Soul's Attendant and cast a Springjack Shepherd while card:Cathars' Crusade is on play. It'll be creating a total of 4 goat tokens 0/1.So am I right to think that the goats, after the abilities of each card resolve, will be a 4/5 at the time?

Yes. When multiple creatures ETB simultaneously, they still all trigger individual instances of card:Cathars' Crusade's ability. Each instance of card:Cathars' Crusade's ability will put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control. Because all Goat tokens will be on the battlefield under your control (barring some removal in response), they'll each get a counter from each instance of card:Cathars' Crusade's ability.

Your wording is kind of confusing.
You can only copy one token per instance of populate.
card:Cathars' Crusade's ability triggers whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control. When the ability resolves, it will put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you currently control. If the set of creatures you control includes the creature that triggered card:Cathars' Crusade's ability, then it will get a counter as well.
