Do Coat of Arms and changelings interact?

Asked by IPyro92 14 years ago

Title says it all pretty much. As an example if I have Coat of Arms in play and I have two Amoeboid Changeling s in play do they go I'm a merfolk, hey look another merfolk +1/+1 then I'm a elf hey look another elf another +1/+1 until they have gone through every creature type and end up getting +(# of creature types in magic)/+(# of creature types in magic)

If this is not what happens why does it not?

It doesn't work like this because it doesn't get +1/+1 for each creature type it shares; it gets +1/+1 for each creature that shares a type with it.

So they'll get +1/+1 for each creature on the battlefield, but they won't go nigh-infinite (as of the latest CR update, by the way, there's 222 creature types, though New Phyrexia is giving us a couple more).

Note the example it gives in the reminder text: There's three creatures on the field - a Goblin Warrior, a Goblin Warrior, and a Goblin Shaman. Each of them gets +2/+2 because for each of them, there's two other creatures that share at least one other creature type with it.
