Do cards in the graveyard still have protection?

Do cards with protection from X still have that static ability while in the graveyard?ex. Knight of Glory is in my graveyard, my opponent targets it with Cremate . Would Knight of Glory still have protection from black in the graveyard?

Protection only works on permanents, which can only exist on the battlefield.
