Creature count life-gain

Asked by acbooster 12 years ago

I have a Goldnight Redeemer in my current deck, which is in transit to the one I have posted here (not relevant, but w/e). If I were to use Karn Liberated 's -14 with Goldnight Redeemer and other creatures exiled this way, would I get the life gain from them or not?

If they enter at the same time they can basically all see each other on the board at the same time. So yes you would gain the life.

From the Oracle rulings for Karn Liberated :

6/1/2011: After the pre-game procedure is complete, but before the new game's first turn, Karn's ability finishes resolving and the cards left in exile are put onto the battlefield. If this causes any triggered abilities to trigger, those abilities are put onto the stack at the beginning of the first upkeep step.

The important thing here isn't that the permanents put onto the battlefield this way see each other entering, it's that Goldnight Redeemer does enter the battlefield in a way that will trigger its ability. Also, Goldnight Redeemer checks how many creatures you control only when the ability resolves. How many creatures are present at the time of triggering or before the resolution is not relevant.
