Copying Land-Creatures as Tokens
Asked by dead_reckoning 12 years ago
Say I have a Faerie Conclave and I pay 1B to turn it into a Creature for a turn. If I then played Rite of Replication or the like, would I get "token Lands" when they lose the Creature type? Or would they lose the Creature type at all??
Yes, because it says "it's still a land," but it would just be a 2/1 creature land.

So they won't lose the Creature type? Or only at the end of the turn?

I think it is exactly what it was when you copied it, but I am not super sure.

@Chubbub: A copy effect only copies what is written on the card and any copy effects to which the copier is subject. Even if Faerie Conclave is a creature when it is copied (which it has to be in the case of Rite of Replication ), the token copies will be inanimate Faerie Conclave s. They don't copy the animated state because it isn't written on the card itself that Faerie Conclave is a 2/1 blue Faerie creature with flying at all times.

Ok, sorry about giving crappy advice. Epochalyptik, can you give me some advice on my deck deck:palisade-deflection.

Ok, so the tokens just come in as copies of the Faerie Conclave in their non-animated state. Got it, thanks guys.
Also, this is the deck I'm referencing, suggestions are welcome: Fortress Trap

The copies will copy the unmodified land, and enter as an unanimated Conclave.
