Converted mana cost of a suspend spell?
Asked by Lhurgyof 11 years ago
Me and my friends were confused about the converted mana cost of suspend spells when I Mana Drain ed a suspended card.
I believe the converted mana cost of a suspend spell is the cost printed on the card (For example, a suspended Greater Gargadon would be CMC = 10), but my friend insists that the converted mana cost would be zero because it was suspended, not cast, a la how x spells work when cast. Which one of is is right?

Well, Suspend is two things: a way to move cards from hand to exile, then a set of triggers.
You can't actually stop them from putting the card into exile with Suspend. But once that card loses its last counter and moves to the stack, its converted mana cost is the cost in the upper right corner, regardless of where it was cast from. You'd get 10 mana from Mana Drain ing a suspended Greater Gargadon .
