Commander+Quietus Spike

Does the damage done by Quietus Spike , when equipped by your commander, go towards the 21 damage needed to win via commander damage?

No. Combat damage is any damage that is dealt by an attacking or blocking creature itself during the combat damage step. This definition excludes all damage dealt as the result of abilities or spells.

Additionally, Quietus Spike does not deal damage. It causes loss of life, which is similar to, but not synonymous with, damage. Quietus Spike is also the source of the ability; the ability is not something that is inherited by the equipped creature.

Unfortunately, no. Quietus Spike's ability causes life loss, not damage.

From the commander rules:

"If a player has been dealt 21 points of combat damage by a particular Commander during the game, that player loses a game."

It should be noted that the only kind of effect that can affect the amount of general damage being dealt during combat (besides static buffs) is a replacement effect that modifies the combat damage itself. An example would be Gisela, Blade of Goldnight , which will deal 10 damage in combat, all of which will be considered general damage because the source is still the attacking Gisela and the medium is still combat damage.
