commander: Ruric Thar, the Unbowed

if Ruric Thar, the Unbowed is my commander and his effect triggers on my opponent would that count as commander damage?

903.14a A player thats been dealt 21 or more combat damage by the same commander over the course of the game loses the game

Ruric Thar's damage from its triggered ability is not combat damage. It does not count as commander damage.
