Commander damage from an opponents commander?

Asked by bigv54 12 years ago

In a 4 player game of commander, one guy used Molten Primordial to take everybody's commander and attacked one guy with all of them. How would commander damage work in this scenario?

Commander damage is unique to each commander. A player only loses the game due to commander damage if he or she has been dealt 21 combat damage from a single commander. Control of the commander, and whether it's the same instance of the commander (i.e. first cast, second cast, etc.), do NOT matter.

So if I did 2 damage to player 1 with my Derevi, Empyrial Tactician and then player 2 took control of it next turn and swung on player one for 2, then player 1 has 4 damage from Derevi?
