Clarification for "Leaves the Battlefield" & "Ninjitsu"

Hi Guys, I am still fairly new to MTG and I have become interested in making a UB Ninja Deck.

I was wondering does Vela the Night-Clad 's "Whenever Vela the Night-Clad or another creature you control leaves the battlefield" trigger off, lets say Mistblade Shinobi 's Ninjitsu returning a creature from the battlefield into your hand.

I tried searching for return to hand and leaves battlefield synergy but found nothing that truly answers it.

If you return something from one zone to another, it leaves the original zone and moves to the new one.

Therefore, when you return a permanent from the battlefield to any other zone, the permanent obviously has to leave the battlefield to go to the new zone. LTB abilities trigger accordingly.

Note that Vela is made for the lead creature of a ninja deck: plane chase: night of the ninja: so it'd be quite awkward if it didn't work :)
