Mathas, Fiend Seeker with Rite of the Raging Storm
Asked by MESS1802 4 years ago
Suppose I control both Mathas, Fiend Seeker and Rite of the Raging Storm.
An opponent’s turn starts, they get an elemental on their upkeep. Their end step comes, so end step triggers go on the stack. They’re the active player so their end step triggers are put on the stack first, including the sacrifice trigger on the elemental. Then as a non-active player, my end step triggers are put on the stack after the active player’s, including my Mathas bounty counter trigger. Assume no other end step triggers occur. Mathas’ trigger resolves first, targeting the active player’s elemental. The active player’s trigger resolves second, sacrificing the elemental with the bounty counter given to it from Mathas, triggering the ability of having each opponent gain 2 life and draw a card.
My question is, did I do that correctly?
Rhadamanthus, yes, you’re right. Sorry, guess I should’ve checked if I could read first

No, it doesn't work that way, but it's because Mathas, Fiend Seeker triggers at the beginning of your end step. It doesn't trigger during other players' turns.
If Mathas did trigger during other players' turns then it would work the way you think.
