Card Question regarding life gain.

Asked by aplechaty 9 years ago

OK I have a question to clarify how these cards work both the Zulaport Cuthtroat, and Drana's Emmisary say the following.

each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life.

Does that mean I gain one life for each point of life lost per opponent or do I only gain 1 life period no matter how many opponents lose life?

I thought for each life lost per opponent I gained one life, based on the wording, but I was told I was wrong during a game. Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Rules Questions belong in the Rules Q&A linked in the header.

Please link all your cards to make answering your question easier. Look at the formatting tips linked at the bottom.

A card only does what is written on it, no more, no less. Zulaport Cutthroat and Drana's Emissary let you gain exactly one life, regardless of number of opponents.

A card that does what you want would be Agent of Masks.

For those 2 you only gain 1 life no matter what. Use Gray Merchant of Asphodel for reference. He says "you gain life equal to life lost this way". Whereas the 2 you mentioned only say "you gain 1 life"
