After you cast an Adventure instant or sorcery, the card goes to exile and you can cast the creature spell from exile. From that point, it's just a regular creature.
If the creature were to return to your hand, you'd have the chance to play the card a second time, and once again you'd either have the choice of just casting it as a creature or casting the Adventure, then letting it become exiled.
