Can you sacrifice mutiple creature with Life Chisel?

My question is can you only sacrifice one creature per upkeep with Life Chisel or can you sacrifice more then one? I know there is "a" in the text but ao does Phyrexian Altar

You can sacrifice multiple creatures.
The current official Oracle text for Life Chisel is clarified to be an activated ability with sacrificing a creature as the cost. Specifically, it says "Sacrifice a creature: You gain life equal to the sacrificed creature's toughness. Activate this ability only during your upkeep."
Like your example of Phyrexian Altar, it can be activated as many times as you want as long as you can pay the cost each time.
