Can you return lands from your graveyard by combining Mycosynth Lattice with Salvaging Station?

I've heard someone say that it couldn't be done, but that person didn't explain why it couldn't be done, and I'm hoping someone can enlighten me.

Colorless does not equal artifact. Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre is an example of that.
Mycosynth Lattice makes all permanents artifacts. Permanents are only things on the battlefield. Everywhere else, they are simply colorless.
Salvaging Station brings back artifacts, not non-artifact colorless cards.
That is why this does not work.
