Can Myriad Landscape fetch a pair of Wastes?

Myriad Landscape says "...basic land cards that share a land type..." However, while Wastes is a basic land, it does not have a 'land type'.
Therefore, it appears that Myriad Landscape cannot fetch a pair of Wastes..
This came up while putting together a EDH deck, and would like some definitive clarification before jamming the card in there and hoping for the best. Thank you..

You're right to think that it doesn't work. An object without a given quality (type, subtype, color, etc.) can't "share" that quality with anything, even another thing that also doesn't have it.
