Can I tap Grindclock in between Hidden Strings triggers.

Say I tapped Grindclock and then I played Hidden Strings . Untap Grindclock . Can I then tap Grindclock before the second-half of the first ability? If so I would then untap Grindclock a second time and then tap it for a third time. Doable?

Negative. You can only activate an ability like Grindclock when you have priority. No one has priority while an object on the stack is resolving.

Also, the tap/untap effects of Hidden Strings are not "triggers". That's just the effect of the spell. A trigger is a specific happening that causes a triggered ability to trigger.

Also, note that Hidden Strings says "another target permanent," meaning the second target must be different from the first target.
