Can I tap Battle Screech's tokens for its flashback immediately?
Asked by dude1818 14 years ago
I cast Battle Screech . Say I have an untapped white creature in addition to the two tokens. That turn, can I tap my three creatures to pay for Battle Screech 's flashback cost, seeing as the tapping is part of their abilities and so isn't affected by summoning sickness? I think it's allowed, I mostly want confirmation.

I believe that you can because the tap ability is not part of the birds' ability so they can be tapped for any other ability.

I would say yes.
Battle Screech spawns your two token creatures. They are affected by summoning sickness, but that does not prevent the card from being tapped, only from using activated abilities, or attacking.
So once Battle Screech hits the graveyard, you could tap your two tokens, and your other creature to play it's Flashback.
Looks legal to me!

Everyone is correct.
As you said, you're tapping the birds as part of a cost to activate another card's effect. They're not doing anything themselves, so to speak. So there's no reason you can't do this.

I see no reason why this shouldn't work.
