Can Haunted Plate Mail attack right away when you activate its ability?
Asked by Grenthox 11 years ago
Does the Haunted Plate Mail get summoning sickness when the becomes a creature after activating his first ability? Or does summoning sickness only apply to creature spells cast form hand and/or graveyard?

What kriskurse says is true it will have summoning sickness on the turn it is played but what you can do is play it turn 4 then use it turn 5 and it wont have summoning sickness.

Alright, so I as long as it's been under my control since the beginning of my turn, I can turn it into a creature and attack right away with it?
How about at the end of the turn, does it untap when it stop being a creature?

Also, a fun combo is using Progenitor Mimic to copy it in creature form. So every upkeep you can make another platemail, and the copies and mimic will be the base equipment state. Then, when you have an army you can attack with all of them, because your able to activate them all in response to each other as long as you control no creatures at the time of activation.

Yes. While true that artifacts don't have summoning sickness, artifact creatures do, So if the artifact were to become a creature on the turn it was played, unless it had haste, it would be affected by summoning sickness. Same goes for the keyrunes. or any type of "Man-Land"
