Can an equipment attach to a creature it's already attached to?

When a creature is equipped with an equipment, you can pay the equip cost again, targeting the same creature. If this resolves, does the equipment at any point detach from the creature, and/or attach to it?

I'm asking with regards to a card that's just been spoiled, Sanctuary Blade, which has the new text "As ~ becomes attached to a creature".

No, the equipment doesn't actually detatch and reattach. Since it's already attached to the creature you're trying to attach it to, the effect does nothing (though you can still activate the ability and pay the cost).

If an effect tries to attach an Aura, Equipment, or Fortification to the object or player it’s already attached to, the effect does nothing. If an effect tries to attach an object that isn’t an Aura, Equipment, or Fortification to another object or player, the effect does nothing and the first object doesn’t move.
