Can a creature with indestructable be killed by combat damage?

Asked by hassankachal 11 years ago

I was playing with my friend and he got a Fleecemane Lion out and attacked. I blocked it with a Champion of the Parish which was a 6/6. Even though champion is a stronger creature, can it still kill the lion with indestructable?

No. Indestructible means it cannot be killed by lethal damage or destroy effects.

It can, however, be killed by reducing it's toughness being reduced to less than 0 (-1/-1 counters and effects), by exiling it, or by sacrifice. Damage is only marked on it, not reduce it's toughness.

No. Indestructible literally means "cannot be destroyed." An indestructible creature can't be destroyed by combat damage or by "destroy" effects.

No. Indestructible creatures aren't killed by damage or destroy effects. (I assume the Fleecemane Lion was monstrous)

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that Fleecemane Lion was monstorous.

If a Fleecemane Lion (monstrous) is blocked by a 4/4 with Infect, then it dies.

Actually, yes. If it is blocked/blocking a creature with infect and it's power is reduced to less than 0, then it'll die.
