They do indeed. If three creatures die, butcher of malakir's ability will trigger for each one. Assuming of course that each creature is one you control (and if butcher is one of them, that he dies last or simultaneously with the others)

"Whenever a creature you control dies" triggers from each creature going to the graveyard separately. If three of your creatures die, three separate triggered abilities from Butcher of Malakir will go onto the stack, each requiring your opponent to sacrifice a creature.

Yes, your opponent has to sacrifice three creatures. They will receive priority between each instance of the triggered ability, but three triggers do happen, one for each creature you control that dies.

If you read Butcher of MalakirMTG Card: Butcher of Malakir carefully, you will see it specifies "whenever a creature you control enters the graveyard from the battlefield". If your opponents creatures died, they don't trigger the Butcher's ability.

If you are asking if they all died via Wrath of GodMTG Card: Wrath of God or a similar spell/ability, the ability would trigger for each instance simultaneously and you will get to choose the order they go on the stack.

  • 603.2c An ability triggers only once each time its trigger event occurs. However, it can trigger repeatedly if one event contains multiple occurrences.
