Brave the Sands

When dealing combat damage all damage is dealt at the same time. It really depends on what creatures are in combat as to what actually happens but I will try to present a few different scenarios.

  • 4/2 blocking two 4/2s: all 3 creatures die, no damage to defending player.

  • 2/2 blocking two 2/2s: blocker and one attacker die, no damage to defending player.

  • 2/2 blocking a 2/4 and a 4/4 trample: blocker dies, 4 damage to defending player.

The basic idea is that your creature does not block a creature and then block another creature. Let's say your opponent attacks with a fearsome team of Fugitive Wizard and Mons's Goblin Raiders. You have Brave the Sands and want to block both with your Gore Swine.

The Gore Swine is not going to block Fugitive Wizard, resolve combat and then block Mons's Goblin Raiders. Rather:

  • The two 1/1s are simultaneously going to become blocked by Gore Swine.
  • You will then get to select in which order you will be dealing damage to them (for this example let's say Wizard first goblin second).
  • You distribute the 4 damages that Gore Swine can deal among those creatures following the appropriate rules (let's say, 3 to the wizard, one to the goblin).
  • Then all damage is dealt simultaneously. Fugitive Wizard is dealt 3 damage and dies. Mons's Goblin Raiders is dealt 1 damage and dies. Gore Swine is dealt 2 damage and dies.
