Blink/Flicker End Step Question
Asked by Smellyolivebreath 4 years ago
So I was playing a Roon of the Hidden Realm deck and I blinked one of my creatures so that it would come back on the end step. I also had a Conjurer's Closet in play. Could I use the Conjurer's Closet on the creature that just came back on end step? Which is correct: Yes, because can stack the triggers so the creature comes in first and then the closet triggers allowing me to blink it again. OR. No, it has to be there at the beginning of the end step in order for the closet to see it (target it) and then blink it.

No, you won't be able to target it with Conjurer's Closet.
If a triggered ability has targets, you need to choose the targets at the time it's put onto the stack. In your example, the triggered ability from the Closet and the delayed triggered ability created by Roon of the Hidden Realm's effect ("...at the beginning of the next end step") trigger at the same time and are put onto the stack at the same time (in the order of your choice). That means the creature hasn't returned to the battlefield yet when it's time to choose a target for Conjurer's Closet.
