barrage tyrant + Eldrazi annihilator

Asked by Barrelbomb 8 years ago

Ok i have Barrage Tyrant out as well as Kozilek, Butcher of Truth can i declare kozilek as an attacker to proc his annihilator 4, then use barrage tyrants ability to sacrifice him before the blockers are declared and do the damage to the other player?

i believe you can. you declare him as an attacker, then after opponent declares blockers, you sac before damage (unless he is unblocked, in which u sac after combat for even more damage!)

Lovely stuff just wanted to make sure because i know annihilator procs before he declares defenders so if i can get a few more answers confirming this, this would be a pretty powerful combo. Base summon (4 card draw effect) Declare attack (annihilator 4 proc) Enemies block (defenders killed) sacrifice (deal creatures dmg to player) Kozilek heads to the grave (shuffle graveyard back into deck)

You can do it your way. After you declare attackers, there is a round of priority in which you can cast Instants or activate abilities.

That being said, in most instances you would be better off letting your opponent declare blockers first, then decide if you want to use the ability before or after combat, as after blockers are declared there is another round of priority.

As an aside, "proc" is not a term in Magic. "Proc" stands for programmed random occurrence, which requires that there's only a chance that something will happen. Triggered abilities always trigger if their conditions are met. They aren't random.
