Avacyn + Wrath of God.

Asked by JMANNO33O 12 years ago

Say I have Avacyn, Angel of Hope on the battlefield, along with a couple of other creatures. If I cast Wrath of God , destroying all creatures, my creatures will all still be alive right? It says they can't be regenerated, but they're indestructible, not regenerable.

So it seems almost obvious that they'd be still there. Just looking for clarification.

You're right, they will be just fine.

Perhaps you are confusing indestructible with hexproof or protection from white, both of which would not save a creature from Wrath of God , due to the fact that Wrath of God does not target.

Not confused. Just needed clarifying. While I'm here, I want to ask that if someone attacks, lethal damage is marked on all my creatures, and then they exile avacyn, all my creatures would die right?

That's right. The basic answer to both of your questions is that "this is indestructible" means "this can't be destroyed". The two things in the game that "destroy" are lethal marked damage and effects that say "destroy". If your creatures are indestructible, then "destroy" effects will do nothing and if lethal damage is marked on them they'll just sit there and not die. Getting rid of Avacyn won't make any previous "destroy" effects be applied retroactively, but it will cause currently marked lethal damage to destroy the creatures.
