Aura Finesse and Animate Dead
Asked by benzzer853 12 years ago
If I cast Aura Finesse on an Animate Dead do move the aura onto another creature in the graveyard or another creature on the battlefield. If I move it onto another creature does the creature returned with Animate Dead die or can I make one of my opponents creatures get -1/-0. Can I kill my opponents creatures by moving the enchantment to them then bouncing the enchantment.

Alright never mind. Re-reading the gatherer page:
"Once the creature is returned to the battlefield, Animate Dead can't be attached to anything other than it (unless Animate Dead somehow manages to put a different creature onto the battlefield). Attempting to move Animate Dead to another creature won't work."

If you wanted to you could flicker or slide Animate Dead , and choose a different creature to return to the battlefield when it reenters play.

Animate Dead 's text was changed to "gains "enchant creature put onto the battlefield with Animate Dead."", which means that after it comes into play and you choose a creature from your graveyard, it can't enchant any other creature.
@ emrakool : You can't flicker the animate dead onto another creature. When the spell starts resolving you have to let it completely resolve before you can add anything else to the stack. So once you choose a creature from your graveyard with Animate Dead and there are no responses to the spell being played, then the creature will then be returned to the battlefield and Animate Dead will be attached to it. After [[animate dead enchants the creature, players can add spells to the stack again.

I'm talking about abilities like Venser, the Sojourner . Unless Animate Dead 's text says "When you cast", you should be able to exile it and return it to the battlefield targeting another creature.
You'd still have to sacrifice the creature it was attached to when it left play, but I think it would accomplish what benzzer853 was looking for.

By using things like Venser, the Sojourner on Animate Dead it wouldn't get the effect benzzer853 is after. Because Animate Dead leaves the battlefield, the original creature is sacrificed, and Animate Dead 's original ability (to enchant a creature in a graveyard) will be active again upon its return to the battlefield. Unless you were aiming to just have a different creature, or to trigger a ETB or LTB effect, it doesn't accomplish anything really.

Taken from the card's Gatherer page:
"Enchant creature card in a graveyard
When Animate Dead enters the battlefield, if it's on the battlefield, it loses "enchant creature card in a graveyard" and gains "enchant creature put onto the battlefield with Animate Dead." Return enchanted creature card to the battlefield under your control and attach Animate Dead to it. When Animate Dead leaves the battlefield, that creature's controller sacrifices it.
Enchanted creature gets -1/-0."
So, no you can't use Aura Finesse to get a new creature from a yard, because it loses "enchant creature in a graveyard" when it hits the battlefield.
You can move the enchantment to an opponent's creature, bounce it, and then both creatures, the original, and the newly enchanted creature, would need to be sacrificed.
