Assault Formation

Asked by Quadsimotto 8 years ago

I have read the card but i would like some clarification. Assault Formation. I attack with a creature with defender. It still has a the same base power and toughness only it assigns damage from the toughness base. So my question is, I attack with an Archers' Parapet it is blocked with a Elvish Mystic It assigns the 5 damage to the mystic but since it does not say anything about actually changing the power and toughness it still has the 5 toughness and lives? is this correct?

Yes, it lives. Assault Formation doesn't swap power and toughness or changes how much damage must be dealt to a creature in order to kill it in any way.

@magicnerd0815 not to come off as stupid but, combat damage... If i attack with a that parapet and they have nothing to block with it will assign combat damage equal to its toughness. to the player? or is combat damage strictly applied to combat with other creatures?

Combat damage is not limited to combat between creatures and also includes damage dealt to players.

Also my first answer is not entirely correct Assault Formation can modify how much damage must be dealt to a creature to kill it since it can increase a creature's thougness, but this changes nothing in your example.
