Asmodeus vs. Uba Mask
Asked by seshiro_of_the_orochi 2 years ago
Asmodeus the Archfiend and Uba Mask both are replacement effects for drawing cards. When I control both, I can decide on which one to apply first to any card I draw, which results in either being able to cast the card this turn (as Uba Masks effect) OR being able to put the card into my hand at some later point with Asmodeus. Can anyone confirm or deny? I have both cards, and my mind is gnawing on a veeery mean black EDH deck. This would be a very fun interaction in there.

RaidenShogun69: Thanks for pointing that out. I thought I had made it clear enough I knew that, but it's important point regarding the question still.

616.1. If two or more replacement and/or prevention effects are attempting to modify the way an event affects an object or player, the affected object’s controller (or its owner if it has no controller) or the affected player chooses one to apply, following the steps listed below. If two or more players have to make these choices at the same time, choices are made in APNAP order (see rule 101.4).
