are attraction visits a must

Asked by koylucumert 2 years ago

I never expected to have such a question in mtg but here we are. so, for example if I have a Ferris Wheel in play and I roll a 6, but no players other than me control a creature. can I choose not to visit that attraction? or is attractions a must action and I have to phase out my own creature?

There is not a "may" in the text of the rule for visit, so it is a triggered ability that must be performed.

702.159a Visit is a keyword ability found on Attraction cards (see rule 718). “Visit — [Effect]” means “Whenever you roll to visit your Attractions, if the result is equal to a number that is lit up on this Attraction, [effect].” See rule 701.49, “Roll to Visit Your Attractions.”
