Any way to use Araumi of the Dead Tide on opponent's turn?

Asked by CamraMaan 7 months ago

I'm curious if there are any cards that would allow Araumi of the Dead Tide to get around the sorcery speed restriction... my database search queries haven't come up with anything. Is the text effectively written so that this can't be skirted around...? I appreciate any help and insight!

Or is it that I can use Araumi on any turn, but the encore ability is limited to sorcery speed? If that is the case, is there any way around that limitation...?

To the main question: You won't be able to get around the restriction. The words "as a sorcery" or "at any time you could cast a sorcery" specifically mean "during a main phase on your turn when the stack is empty". No effect can change this definition.

To the side question: The "Activate only as a sorcery" at the end of Aurami's text box is part of the reminder text for encore. It's not part of Aurami's ability. You can activate Aurami's ability whenever, but unless you have something else going on that watches for cards in graveyards becoming targets, you'll only be able to do anything with the ability during your own turn.

I was afraid you were going to say that. Appreciated!
