Agent of The Fates & Voice simultaneous truggers

Asked by Sabbath91 9 years ago

I attack with a Voice of Resurgence and my opponent, after declare attackers but before declaring blocks, casts Gods Willing targetting his Agent of the Fates (declaring protection from white). This will trigger both abilities at the same time (Voice's token due to a spell being cast in my turn and Agent's heroic causing me to sac a creature).

Following APNAP order, the Agent of the Fates trigger would go on the stack before the Voice of Resurgence trigger and i would therefor have a token to sacrifice to the Agent's ablity.

Is this correct? This caused a stir at FNM today and it would be really helpfull if someone could clear this up.

Thanks!

Actually, following the APNAP order, your Voice's trigger will be put onto the stack first. If you are attacking, it is your turn, therefore you are the active player. Your triggers are put onto the stack first and resolve last.

But i though that since he had priority to play the Gods Willing , he must be the active player ?

No. Active player is always the player whose turn it is.

Fair enough, thank you. I always thought active player was the player with priority.
