Aegar, The Freezing Flame and multiple blocks
Asked by raphael75 3 years ago
If I control Aegar, the Freezing Flame and attack with a Craven Giant and my opponent blocks with two 2/1's, would I draw 2 cards from both of them being dealt excess damage?

The way blocking with multiple creatures works is this:
Attackers are declared
Blockers are declared
The attacking player chooses how to divide the damage from their creature, if multiple blockers are indeed declared upon the same creature
Damage is dealt.
And since Aegar has a triggered ability, it will trigger whenever the event that it checks for happens--in this case, a creature being dealt excess damage.

As long as you assigned the damage as two to each, yes you would draw two cards.
