What online card shop do you feel is more consistent?

I've heard a lot of people make cases for both TCG Player and Card Kingdom (the same with the MTG youtubers I watch for advice, it seems to be split between the two), and I figured I'd try to get a general consensus from the TappedOut community instead.

Which of the two have you generally found to be more consistent in terms of Customer Service, and overall prices?

I always use Card Kingdom. Its buylist's prices are unbeatable, which makes a big difference for selling your cards or trading them in for store credit. I find that Card Kingdom's prices are mostly good, maybe a dollar over what a card could be or something for standard staples, possibly more for modern, but considering how many people must use their buylist that's probably fair. I have had no issues with Card Kingdom so I haven't had to speak to their customer service. Also, Card Kingdom supports Magic: the Amateuring, Game Knights, and probably other great podcasts, so I am happy to support them supporting MtA Cast.

I use TCG for mass purchases and Card Kingdom for smaller purchases. CK you are guaranteed to get the printing you want, if it's stock. TCG has the upside of being generally cheaper, but you may get an older printing of a card or less desirable printing.

I'm currently building a LOT of decks so I use TCG to get the deck built, and will likely use CK to upgrade cards as I go from there. CK is in Seattle as well, I'm in Tacoma, so shipping is practically next day for me.

I guess my input would be a mix of the two. CK will charge you .25 for a .10 card, so you do have to watch out for that. And keep in mind TCG is much like Amazon where you generally aren't buying from them, but from different shops nationally. CK is its own card shop, which also happens to be based in the same city as Wizards of the Coast.

Ultimately, they have advantages and disadvantages over the other and the best thing to do is shop smart. Compare the prices on the card you're looking for and go from there. I have never tried to buy an entire list from CK, so I can't speak on that.

Customer service wise, CK is probably better because it doesn't rely on multiple sellers. Sorry for the double post.

JonathanSamurai you realize that you pick a specific card from a specific shop with TCGplayer and you get that one right? Like the only way to not get exactly the card you add to your cart is to use their optimier and then the only way to not get the same set as the one you added is to have "match set" turned off. I'm not saying that it is any better than CardKingdom since I have never used CK and have only heard good things, but your criticism is invalid.

I know you can do those things....

Hence the may. And the reason I say that is because it requires you to have at least $1 from a shop to checkout. There are off chances the card in the printing you want may be sold by a seller that doesn't have enough other cards you want to total $1. Obviously, otherwise yes, you can get exactly what you want all the same.

I have only ever used TCG and have not had a single bad experience. Everything arrives sooner than expected and as stated.

But I've heard people make the same case for other sites as well. Depends on your personal experience probably.

I really like channel fireball. Maybe im missing the mark and need to check out card kingdom. Do they charge shippimg? About how long does it take for them to receive buylist items in and ship out cards youve purchased?
