Glimpse of Nature too good for Modern?

Okay, so as I understand it, Glimpse of Nature was banned in response to it doing ridiculously well in the very first Modern tournament in Elves. But, that happened quite a while ago, and the format is hugely different than it is now.
My question is, does this card still deserve to be banned? I mean, we have an almost identical effect with Beck / Call, so why not unban this? It might even breathe some life into elves and make it a little competitive.

it makes elfs too good and with beck the creature needs to enter the battlefield whereas if u use glimpse you need only cast the spell.

Dalektable: Would you care to explain why? I'm honestly curious, because currently the only deck that would play it (to my knowledge) currently doesn't exist as a competitive deck, so it would need to be ridiculously busted to be banable.
selesvyaloverer8: The counter is only relevant if you require your very first elf to hit to go off really. There's such a mass of elves that one counterspell won't do a huge amount unless the elf you're trying to resolve is the only thing that'll allow you to go off. Otherwise the two effects aren't hugely different.
Thanks for the replies, I'm just trying to understand just why the card is broken enough to be banned.

That's the thing though, It is the card that makes modern elves too good. Well, It and Skullclamp. I can see a world where we unbanning glimpse is reasonable, but never skullclamp. Regardless, the ban makes the deck seriously good and difficult to fight.

The full extra mana cost and different color make it less likely that two, three or four get cast during a turn, making Beck / Call reasonable for Modern.

Okay, I can definitely see that the possibility to cast multiples in a turn without any issues can be broken. Should have been obvious, but thanks regardless for all the replies.
