Strionic Resonator says:
2,T : Copy target triggered ability you control. You may choose new targets for the copy. (A triggered ability uses the words "when", "whenever" or "at".)
so lets say i have Boros Reckoner and a Flinthoof Boar in play and my opponent deals damage to the boar. Can i copy the reckoner's triggered ability to the boar and deal that damage back to my opponent or do they have to target the reckoner for me to copy the triggered ability?
thanks in advance!

You don't copy it "to the boar"... you just copy it.
Let's say you have the layout you mentioned, and your opponent deals 2 damage to your Boros Reckoner ... because your Reckoner has an ability that "triggers" when Boros Reckoner is dealt damage, it will trigger, and go on the stack and you choose a target.
The ability, while on the stack will basically say "Boros Reckoner deals 2 damage (same as amount dealt to him), to target creature or player."
While it is on the stack, before it resolves, you can activate the "Strionic Resonator", targeting that ability that is on the stack. When the ability resolves, a second copy of "Boros Reckoner deals 2 damage (same as amount dealt to him), to target creature or player." will be on the stack (you can choose new target).

Not really, it copies the same ability of the card and its applied again to another target, so in a sense a reverberate for creature abilities (If I'm wrong people will note me lol cuz I'm not 100% familier with rules of cards I don't know unless I looked them up and learned them.)

No, it means you can copy an ability when it triggers. The boar being dealt damage doesn't trigger Boros Reckoner s ability, therefore you would not be able to copy it. If Boros Reckoner would be dealt damage, which would trigger it's ability to deal damage to a creature or player, you would be able to pay 2 and copy that ability and have it deal that damage twice.

Probably a more relevant example in standard would be using it to copy Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker .

Or copying Thragtusk 's triggered abilities when he enters or leaves the field. 7 mana to gain 10 life and a 5/3 two-fer still isn't bad.

First, this should probably in MTG Q&A.
Second, no, it works like copying spells. While the ability is on the stack, you can activate Strionic Resonator to copy it. In your example, since Flinthoof Boar does not have a triggered ability and Boros Reckoner is not dealt damage, there is no ability on the stack to copy, so Strionic Resonator does nothing.
