Skull Collector and Bone Shredder combo?

If I have a Skull Collector and Bone Shredder in play as I start my upkeep, can I return the Bone Shredder to my hand without paying Echo and without having to sacrifice it?
My guess is that this would work because I trigger the Skull Collector's upkeep first and the Bone Shredder will have changed zones from the battlefield to my hand and therefore the Echo cost no longer applies.
Both of the abilities are triggered abilities, so their triggers go on the stack at the same time and you will get to choose the order to stack them. Whichever you put on the stack last will resolve first. If you put Skull Collector 's trigger on the stack last, it will resolve first and you can put Bone Shredder in your hand. Then the Echo trigger will resolve and you can still choose to pay or not pay the cost. Regardless of your choice, nothing will happen because the permanent it is referencing no longer exists on the battlefield.
