Quickest Way to Get Rid of Older Cards

Hello,

I am looking to get rid of a fairly large amount of M12/Innistrad Block/M13 cards and I am wondering what is the quickest/easiest/cheapest way to do this. I am looking to get rid of them because I only play standard and they are taking up a lot of space. I have about 5 or 6 fat packs filled with cards from these sets and a ton of mana (I also have a ridiculous amount of M14/Ravnica mana that I don't need as well...).

Any advice on the matter is welcome, or if anyone is interested in these cards just let me know. Or if anyone has any fun ideas on what to do with them that would be great also. Most are common/uncommon, but I have a decent amount of rares as well. Also, I'm not really concerned about making very much money from these cards, I'm really just wanting to get rid of them ASAP.

Thanks!

Throw them out.

Seriously. Well, for most of them. I just went through all of my cards that will soon be rotating and pulled out the one each of the cards I want to keep for EDH. I'm keeping the rares and foils, but everything else (the crap commons and uncummons) I just dumped into the recycling bin.

Or you could try taking them to a local game shop to see if they would buy the cards for a bulk price. A lot of times, shops will buy even commons and uncommons in bulk. You may not get very much money, but it's better than nothing.

Haha, yeah I considered that, but I figured I'd at least see if I could find anyone who maybe had a use for them before I did that. And yeah I've been meaning to hit up my local game store to see if they'd be interested.

Aside from that, try to sell them in bulk on Craigslist. Don't be a doucher and lie about what you have - just say you have a bunch of commons and uncommons that you're looking to get rid of.

I'll buy them in bulk. 10 cents per 100 cards. That's about what a store will pay you anyway.

I would advise you to keep a playset of everything useful just in case they're reprinted in Standard or if they make good Modern/Legacy cards. At least keep one of everything for EDH decks.

You could try selling them on Craigslist or at your local game store. Or, if no one will give you money for them, you could give them to a new player. Lots of game stores will take donations of basic lands for drafts.

Do you have any friends who like MTG, but don't have any cards? That could be a start. Donating is always a great option, if you have a local orphanage around.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

Denial048, would you be willing to pay for the shipping as well? I've never shipped that many cards but I'm sure it will be fairly costly.

Oh, and I'll pay $2 per fat pack box and the postage as well, assuming the postage isn't too high.

Denial048, that sounds good, would you be interested in deck boxes as well? I have a ton of those too.

You don't need to keep 4 of everything, especially if it's just some shitty common, nor do you need to keep one of everything for EDH. Most cards are awful in EDH, like vanilla creatures or burn spells.

Denial048 says... #12

Nah, don't really care for those ( assuming you mean the flimsy ones that come with the fat packs)

Are you able to quickly find out how much the postage would be to Warragul, Victoria, Australia? Because it'll probably be much too high to make this worth it.

It's not going to be worth it. Estimated shipping for a 5 lb package is at least 80 bucks...

I personally just sold all of my "junk cards", about 2,000 of em for $40 bucks to somebody just hanging out at my local shop. Ebay is also a good way to get rid of bulk stuff as long as you don't pay the shipping, that can get VERY expensive.

Ouch, 80 bucks... Yeah gonna have to pass. Sorry!

Id go through what's there (time permitting) and pick what you like/will be useful down the road. Keep some of the rares because someday you may want a casual deck that uses them, and turn the rest into burn spells...(just add gasoline...)

@joecole343 I may be interested in buying your cards for bulk. If you'd like, we can try to work out a price. I live in the US as well, if that makes a difference.

Make a collage. Get creative with em. Use the ones with cool art as bookmarks or something.

Those are all great ideas, I think I'll try to bulk sell the majority of them and then try to do something fun with the really cool ones. Thanks everyone!
