Cleaning sleeves with rubbing alcohol

I've found several forum discussions on various sites that say rubbing alcohol is a good way to clean Dragonshield card sleeves. I've also found a few saying the alcohol could deteriorate the sleeves. Could anyone give a final answer on if rubbing alcohol can damage the plastic that Dragonshields are made from?

I use a SLIGHTLY dame paper towel and wipe off each side of each sleeve individually. I usually take the cards out to avoid damage and more importantly so the dirt on the front is easy to see. It doesn't take much water and I don't like the idea of alcohol, but I have never tried it.

I usually just buy a new set if I have some cash. If not, I'll actually wash them in room temperature water with dish-washing soap, rinse them, and them fold a piece of paper into a little triangle to prop the sleeve open as it dries. I leave them out slanted with the tops pointing downward for 24 hours. Never had a problem, they dry out completely, and they clean well. Just be very careful that the sleeves are actually dry before you sleeve cards. Also, this process is suuuuper tedious. Watch some TV while you do it or something.

Never tried cleaning them, I just cycle "bad" sleeves over to sleeve cards in my binder, and get new sleeves for new decks

Not buying new sleeves saves cash that could be put into making a better deck, which is where I'd like to spend my magic money. Every time I buy new sleeves, my deck gets worse.

I tried rubbing alcohol and it seemed effective but unnecessarily caustic on everything including my polished fingernails. I tried and have stuck with bleach - although it has resulted in numerous clothing casualties. In both cases, I diluted the cleaning agent in water.

For dragon shields I usually just take a toothpick and rub off all the offending dirt from the sleeves. It takes very little time, and I don't have to dry them/remove the cards.

Whenever I decide to build a new deck I buy new sleeves. Any old sleeves go to my binder

I generally avoid using any liquid to clean any of my Magic stuff. A fingernail brush or old toothbrush works just fine. That's how I clean my Dragon Shields.
