Recent Price Increases

I have a Liliana of the Veil and Geist of Saint Traft and have noticed the prices have gone up pretty significantly over the past week. I was curious what is the reason for this? I have always heard of Modern tournaments being more popular in certain times of the year. Is the being of the year one of those instances? I was just wondering for future reference in case I get a hold of any other modern staple cards. Thanks
With pod gone BG/x is now the most viable midrange deck. Price of liliana and goyf is spiking.

God dammit, there goes my chances of affording G/B staples. Why can't I have my own money tree.

Possibly of the recent bans that made Delver tier 2 again and completely wiped out Pod. Pod players will probably change their decks to midrange Junk, so that could explain the Lilly increase and Geist might be more popular with the recent expansions adding some good cards for decks with him.
