Two-Headed Giant EDH games? Anyone ever play?

I have a group of friends and we've recently tried playing two-headed giant EDH games and it's very fun. I'm wondering if anyone else plays and what rules they go by. We play same rules apply and life is up to 60. Commander damage is still the same but we thought about bumping it up a little. What are your guys thoughts???

Do you make all 200 cards for the team singleton for the team outside of basic lands? Like how the 4 copies rule in 60 card 2HG applies to the team instead of the individual decks.

My play group has done it ony we do 50 life. Commander damage is 21 from a single commander not 21 total commander so we do 2v2v2 games so you could potentially have commander damage from 4 sources

My friends and I have played as well. We pretty much doubled everything. 80 life and 41 total commander damage since 2 could come at you. Non of our decks really shared many cards to be honest so we didn't have to worry about too many copies other than lands. We ignored that one. The worst thing was one of the players against me and my partner played Sorin Markov . He went right for the 10 life.

I love playing EDH like this. In my group/groups we usually say 21 commander damage and 60 life. I also try to barter 15 infect as well. We never worry about card copies, because usually were running different commanders.

I highly suggest this way of playing EDH, for those who want to spice things up a bit. Additionally, if you've heard of five-star, it also works really well in this format. Each player is assigned a color from the color wheel and can only attack the enemies of that color (ex. The person assigned white has to kill black and red). Whoever kills their targets first wins.

When we play with two or more players on a team, it makes EDH so much fun. Each deck interacts differently with each other player and it makes the games really interesting. We haven't worried about the single card copy rule, but some of us have ran the same couple of cards. Never even thought about that. We do 21 commander damage but through individual commanders.

Alizer313 could you go into the color wheel thing a little more. That sounds super fun!

So basically, you have five players sitting in the formation on the back of a magic card. Each player is playing at least the color that they are sitting in, and the first player to have their enemies die, wins!

For example, let's say Red player kills Blue right off the bat. If White dies next, Red wins. If Black dies next, Green wins. If Red dies, the game continues. For this example, let's assume Red dies next. So Red and White are deck, and Blue, Black, and Green are left. For Blue or Black to win, Green has to die. For Green to win, Blue and Black have to die. It's quite interesting actually because you actually benefit by helping other players kill other players.

That sounds a little confusing lol But it sounds like a lot of fun. It would make the interaction interesting. Thanks for the idea! @MagicalHacker

The way he explained it seems a little more complex than necessary. The basic idea is that each player has a mono color deck and sits in a circle in WUBRG order. The winner is the first player who's enemy colors are eliminated.

That's basically because he asked for a deeper explanation than Alizer313 gave. Also, Ive played where mono colored decks arent necessary, as long as you have that particular color in the deck, but I think your way makes more sense.
