For the sake of deckbuilding, cards like Snow-Covered Swamp count as basic lands, right? Because I want my mana base to be snow lands just because it's my favorite art for lands.

It says basic, so yes. A lot of mono-colored decks use snow basics with Extraplanar Lens to avoid helping their opponents.

Yes. They count as basic lands as denoted by the "Basic" supertype. This not only counts for deckbuilding, but also in real game. Anything affecting any basic lands or specifically non-basic lands are all affected also.

Ok cool. :D The teacher who supervises my magic club has a bunch of mint condition snow-lands that he bought when Coldsnap first came out, and he's trading me enough for my deck in exchange for some angel cards to make a good angel base.

If he has any foil BUG snow basics, I'd trade for those.

Nah I don't think he has any foils. If he does he didn't say anything about them.

Damn. It was worth a shot; they're hard to find sometimes.
