Adding cards —Dec. 15, 2021
+1 Smuggler's Copter -1 Aether Vial
+1 Warren Weirding -1 Fury
I have been finding in my playing and testing that Aether Vial feels bad to draw in Modern. If I don't see it turn 1-3, I never want to see it. I have also been siding it out against most decks due to the fact that they are much faster than us. These matchups include Hammertime, Affinity, Burn, Temur Cascade, etc...
Warren Weirding has been outperforming and doing work. With Murktide usually being the only the creature on the field when it is out, this card has been easy removal. It also has a more versatile position in general.
Ignoble is worth it for a few different reasons. It makes your 2 mana or 3 mana 1/1's actually have some weight when they attack. Also between Aether Vial, Stomping Ground, and Cavern of Souls; casting an Ignoble has never been an issue for me.
Legion Loyalist is not worth it as the trample or unblockable by tokens doesn't really give a payoff and Knucklebone Witch is also very clunky. Goblin Guide has never been in the Goblins midrange list.
One of the main misconceptions of midrange goblins is that it is an aggro deck. So pushing the mana curve lower doesn't really improve the deck.

So what does the deck struggle against? Any particularly weak match ups, or patterns in how you lose?

Deck struggles against Burn, Temur Cascade, Dredge, Charbelcher (most unfair decks) if we are discussing archetypes. Otherwise, the hardest thing for this deck is decks that go wide quickly (turn 1 swiftspear, turn 2 guide swiftspear bauble, etc...) or assemble lethal by turn 3 with optimal hands.
The most common way I lose is running out of gas and hitting land pockets. Snoop has been helpful for cracking fetches as you get the ability to "scry". The other way is sometimes your opponent just has it all.

Does the green splash get you anything but ignoble hierarch?
Is the hierarch worth the headache?
Are there other red or black 1-drops worth considering in its place? Legion Loyalist, Perhaps? or even Knucklebone Witch? I Know Goblin Guide has fallen out of favor?
Maybe the acceleration really is that critical for this deck, but I'd be inclined to see if I could make a board presence and cut the third color for my own life total and consistency's sake.
