July Update Log —July 20, 2020

  • Added snowlands to make Field Of The Dead ever so slightly better. Works with all my ramp anyways.

  • Added Flameshadow Conjuring (acts as both a token doubler AND a sac outlet for Hazezon by carefully using the legend rule), cutting Doubling Season (5 mana was too much and I don't care much about counters).

  • Added Nylea's Intervention (versatile mana sink to dig through toolbox of lands), nearly cutting Hour Of Promise but decided to cut Ranger's Path instead (more expensive, but having another tutor for Gaea's Cradle, Field Of The Dead, or a much-needed sac outlet seems worth the price).

  • Added Hour of Reckoning (free with a seven land Hazezon trigger), and cut Sakura-Tribe Elder.

  • Added Harmonize (strong, cheap card draw), cutting Regal Force (too expensive while too conditional, never a competitive choice when tutoring).

  • Added Castle Garenbrig (not a wide range of uses but makes the 2nd, 3rd, etc casting of Hazezon easier), cutting a Forest.

tomero12,
Nice deck, and I love your write-up!

I've really only got one comment: I'm not a big fan of Coat of Arms. In my group anyways, it's just way too much of a group hug card for my tastes. If it works in your group though, more power to ya ... literally! :-)

Draw well!

I imagine he only casts Coat of Arms with an impending Sand army about to swing. His opponents won't get the benefit of it early, and won't have a chance to use it afterwards - they'll be dead.

This list looks pretty sweet, but sadly way above my budget. I think if I add my 3 most expensive decks together I can manage that price tag.

a good deck that revolves around creatures and combat, i love it. its been years since creatures have been relevant in my play group i wish i could play against it.
