Following gameplay in both 1v1, and 3 player games, the introduction of Monarch could very quickly backfire. Jared wants to attack, and he's there for his rightful crown. 3/3 for 3cmc... Then he's just a wall that people have to get through as he defends said throne. But then he's not aggressive. He needs vigilance to be worthwhile, and spec'ing into that isn't ideal.
Wulfgar only has 5-7 things in the deck he can trigger for, and 2 of those are creatures that need to be equipped for said triggers. He's not awful, but he's not actively contributing to the gameplan, so he's out (thus the 4x companions of the hall are broken)
Not sure if it's been a string of bad luck, but I've had plenty of games where I'm not drawing creatures and timely removal ruins my strategy and I'm crawling back to try and stay in the game. Jared having been the only constant was a bit rough, which leads me to considering partners - 2 creatures to help pad the creature count.
Will be testing Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist and Tana, the Bloodsower *f-etch* for the color pairings. One is equipment centric, and the other can help me attempt to pivot to go wide for blockers.
