I have a copy of Diabolic Revelation in my Sen Triplets EDH deck, although I am considering replacing it with a copy of Rune-Scarred Demon, since I like having a powerful 6/6 creature with flying, which I could potentially summon repeatedly, to use its ability multiple times.

What does everyone else say about this? Should I replace Diabolic Revelation with Rune-Scarred Demon, or keep the sorcery in that deck?

DapperKava, since each enchantment triggers under different conditions, there should not be any confusion regarding which cost a player is paying.

How is Planar Nexus any different from Nearby Planet?

wallisface, Gidgetimer, you definitely are making well-reasoned points, at least about the game, but I most certainly know what is best for myself, and I would never allow anyone else to tell me what is best, for me, but that is, again, a subject for another thread.

As for fan-made cards, I agree that many of them are made by people who do not understand how this game works, but I still severely dislike the complete disconnect between the designers and players, a disconnect that exists in nearly every game ever made, and one that I dearly wish did not exist.

Gidgetimer, that is very good; thank you, very much.

I have both Sylvan Library and Angel of Jubilation in one of my decks, so does the library's ability bypass the angel's restriction? I presume that it does, since the angel prevents players from paying life to activate abilities, while the library's ability is a triggered ability.

What does everyone else say about this subject? Does Sylvan Library bypass Angel of Jubilation?

Also, SteelSentry, please forgive the double post, but how, exactly, are edicts the weakest form of removal, when they bypass hexproof, indestructible, and protection?

wallisface, I fully respect your opinion, and have no problem with it, but I do dislike how I seem to be the only user here who dislikes all the restrictions that WotC has been imposing upon the game, recently, as the fact that they design the game does not mean that they know what is best for it; we, the players, know what is best for the game, since we are the ones who play it, but that is a discussion for a different thread.

SteelSentry, the example that you provided is exactly the reason for which I am upset at the "non-token" restriction on the flare spells, but I am satisfied with all of the other examples that you provided, in addition to Pitiless Carnage and Baron Bertram Graywater (which, by the way, is one of the rare few instances in which I agree that the "once per turn" restriction is justified), so I am not too worried, at this moment, that WotC is restricting the options of the players.

TypicalTimmy, I did not have any particular format in mind when I designed this card, but I agree that perhaps it should be more expensive, so here is my new version of it:

Creative Destruction Show

What does everyone here think about this card, now?

May 8, 2024 8:24 p.m.

Gidgetimer, that is ridiculous; why not have a normal print run for these sets? How can WotC be that greedy?

Coward_Token, were you being sarcastic?

Have you considered Firemane Avenger, Firemane Commando, or Aurelia, the Law Above for this deck? All of those are amazing creatures, and should work very well with this deck's theme.

May 7, 2024 11:08 p.m.

Here is an idea for a card that I had, and that I wished to share with everyone else:

Creative Destruction Show

I originally had planned for this spell to cost , but I then decided that a powerful effect such as this should force the player to commit heavily to a red/blue deck, and I also had originally decided that a card with a powerful effect such as this should be a sorcery, but I then decided that it could be an instant with such a color-intensive cost.

I also do understand that this card's name implies that it should generate a token, rather than drawing cards, but this was the first name that I conceived, and I did not wish to waste time attempting to imagine a new name for the card, so I have chosen this name. What does everyone else think about this card?

May 7, 2024 10:18 p.m.

wallisface, I am lamenting that because I fear that this may be a new trend: first, there was Sheoldred  Flip, then, there was Rakdos, Patron of Chaos, and, now, there is this flare cycle, so I am worried that all sacrifice effects in the future, either voluntary or involuntary, may specify non-token permanents, which completely invalidates the purpose of token decks to produce disposable cannon fodder; Demand Answers gives me hope that the previous cards are rare exceptions, but I noticed that it specifies sacrificing an artifact, not a creature, and, until recently, it was far easier to generate creature tokens than artifact tokens, and also easier to reanimate creatures than artifacts, but we have already discussed this issue, so there is no need to discuss it, any further.

May 7, 2024 9:52 p.m.

TypicalTimmy, I share your frustration at both Signature Spellbook and Commander Collection apparently benign cancelled, and the worst part of that is that WotC never explicitly confirmed that those product lines had been canceled, or for what reason, as they clearly expected everyone to simply forget about them.

I presume that Nulldrifter's card drawing ability is a cast trigger and not an enters-the-battlefield trigger to prevent players from abusing it, as they can with Mulldrifter?

May 4, 2024 11:20 p.m.

I have not started a thread about a Secret Lair product in quite some time, since WotC has been printing so many of those that I feel it is foolish to make a thread for each one, but their newest Secret Lair is so ridiculous that I felt that I needed to make a thread about it.

The newest Secret Lair (at the time of this post) is Sans Mercy, and the cards in it have awesome artwork, but they are ruined by the ridiculous font; why would WotC do a thing such as that? What were they thinking when they designed those cards? What does everyone else say about this new Secret Lair product?

May 4, 2024 11:04 p.m.

DarkKiridon, Gidgetimer, I am very sorry about using terminology improperly, so I hope that you understood the intent of my question.

May 4, 2024 10:55 p.m.

If a player controls a Blood Moon, and their opponent responds by casting a Prismatic Omen, which enchantment shall have priority? What types will all nonbasic lands have?

May 4, 2024 9:08 a.m.

In the early days of the game, spells that could be cast for no mana were supposed to be a desperate last resort by incurring a cost other than mana, but, in recent years, free spells have become very powerful, such as the free spells from Ikoria Commander (most notably Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship) and the flare cycle from the upcoming Modern Horizons 3, so I wonder if free spells are becoming too powerful.

What does everyone else say about this? Are free spells becoming too powerful?

As a side note, I severely dislike that the flare cycle requires sacrifice of a non-token creature, as not all colors excel at creature recursion.
