Made a regular commander deck out of this pair but realized the power level of both of them was better suited for something like Pauper EDH

The main strategy involves setting up a self-sustaining skeleton engine by bringing out an early drop 2-for-1 creature as soon as possible (e.g. Goblin Instigator or Blisterpod).

Once you have both Gut, True Soul Zealot and his accompanying background Cloakwood Hermit, a single attack starts the engine, as sacrificing one of your creatures to Gut's attack trigger will summon a skeleton along with two squirrels to attack with and sacrifice the next turn.

From there you can focusing on protecting yourself and Gut while your skeleton squirrel snowball gets bigger and bigger.

This is also kind of like a Gruul aristocrats deck which I find somewhat unique.
