Also, in aggro decks, I especially recommend running 2 - 4x Valorous Stance. That card's utility is way too good to pass up. Especially in a meta with Fatal Push. It will not block Path to Exile, but most people would probably try not to use those up right away. Instead of Mardu Charm, I would run Secure the Wastes, and for the most part Crackling Doom is kind of worthless in modern, unless you're going up against a control type deck.
Kolaghan's Command is almost a must if you can afford the price (since you got the colors I would put at least 2x in my SB). I bought 8 of them when they were selling for a buck, I knew that card was going to be broken.
- -3x Devoted Crop-Mate
- -4x Glory-Bound Initiate
- -2x Always Watching
- -2x Mardu Charm
- -3x Herald of Dromoka
- -1x Honored Crop-Captain
- -4x Nef-Crop Entangler
+3x Blood-Chin Rager
- +3x Valorous Stance
- +2x Secure the Wastes
- +3x Sorin, Solemn Visitor (Your main wincon with some board state)
- +4x Chief of the Edge
- +2x Battle Brawler
- +2x Path to Exile
- +1 or 2x Brutal Hordechief as a topper / alt win-con
- +1 or 2x Hero's Downfall
Maybe if you find space for it, a Mardu Strike Leader.
- -2x Mountain
- -4x Nomad Outpost
- +4x Battlefield Forge
- +4x Caves of Koilos
- +2x Mana Confluence or City of Brass
Total 22 lands since your CMC is so low. You also need some wincon finishers, Sorin, Solemn Visitor is my aggro planeswalker of choice here. He also pairs nice with the painlands, basically having you recover any early self-pain. You should definitely use some disruption, probably Thoughtseize in SB otherwise you are highly vulnerable to wipes. Something on the sideboard for drawing extra cards wouldn't hurt either, e.g. Painful Truths.
So, for the SB, I would add
Depending on how competitive your meta is, there's a few other things you might need to add in there.
The core of most warrior decks look extremely similar because those are generally the best warriors out there.

apolloflame by turn 3 with warriors you could be swinging for a total of 9, 6 of which is double strike and one that comes back from the dead. And turn 4 can win you the game. Not sure if you checked out the deck I posted, but there's tons of good examples in there.
In case you're not looking at it:
Ideal Play (Possible win by turn 4):
- T1: Bloodsoaked Champion
- T2: Chief of the Edge: Hit for 3 (17).
- T3: Arashin Foremost: Hit for 9 (8).
- T4: Brutal Hordechief: Hit for 15, gain 3 life / Sorin, Solemn Visitor: Hit for 20, gain 20 life.
The pain lands are probably an economical option for these types of aggro decks (those are the ones I had for my warrior deck before I got shock lands).
Are all good choices.
For turn 4, there could be better choices than Brutal Hordechief, I haven't look around much. But when I was running warriors, it was about trying hard to not miss a drop or a play, since aggro is all about quick kills, swinging for the most damage possible as early as possible always made sense to me. In modern, a turn 3 4/4 is ok, but considering I can have a 4/5 goyf out, or a 5/5 scooze, it very much depends.
On top of that, competitively, you will run into Tas and Angler, both of which can generally be cast by turn 3 or 4 and both are bigger than a 4/4.

I built a similar deck to this during the theros block for standard.
Not sure I agree with Herald of Dromoka, seems like you could do better for that spot. Same thing with Glory-Bound Initiate. The exertion gimmick is costing you too many cards I think, and warriors can be far more aggresive.
As for lands, you have far better options than Nomad Outpost without breaking a budget.
Not sure if this is something you converted from standard to modern recently, but in any case you could check out The Horde smiles at death - Competitive (budget) for some inspiration (maybe).

I think you're over compensating in the removal now. That many removal spells leave you very open / dead cards against control and combo decks.
3x Path, 3x Push, 2x Decay with rest in sideboard should be good. And that gives you space to put some disruption back in MB. (e.g. 3x thoughtseize or the like)
P.S. Yeah, abzan needs walkers. I have a gideon in my SB.

I mean you can tap your fetches for black mana without having to sac them if all you need is swamp. Thus saving the fetch effect to trigger revolt in push during the mid to late game (thus hitting 4cmc which is more relevant than 2cmc in the later stages). The part about fetching for basics, is relevant because instead of shocking yourself, you may fetch a forest or a plains, and you still got the same effect a shockland might give ya (as long as urborg is still around).
Thanks for your upvote and compliments!

I would still consider a Sigarda, Host of Herons, since she can protect against things like All Is Dust, Cataclysmic Gearhulk, and Liliana of the Veil. Thrun, the Last Troll still dies to that, as well as Wrath of God and Damnation and possibly Cataclysmic Gearhulk.

Btw, in the current meta, sigarda is way better than thrun. I used to have both in my deck, sigarda can help against tron and control. Think All Is Dust

Btw, I think this archtype is known as little kid abzan no?

Thanks for the +1!!!
I originally had kitchen finks in the deck, and had thought about running foremost, the thing is, finks is not fast enough and it felt very defensive. The lifegain is great, but there was no space for a combo. Foremost basically requires too much stuff for her to be useful, e.g. she needs to stick around a whole turn, connect, and have another creature tapped. With as much removal as there is currently, that seems like a lot for something that is not a wincon on it's own right. Militant is something i had not considered for this deck. I actually had suggested for a kid abzan deck since it's meant to be more creature oriented than this deck (midrange). Generally speaking, for my turn 1, ideally I want to be laying down a swamp with IoK or thoughtseize followed by a turn 2 scooze or goyf. That also gives me the ability for a turn 1 push response, but in generally, i don't want to be playing white lands for turn 1. It's nice that she's green also, but a 2/1 with a specific ability would be rough to cut stuff for in the deck.
Maybe replacing nihil spellbomb with foremost in SB (I think that's the suggestion you were making) may not be a bad play...
I'll check that out and see how it goes. Concern is that spellbomb can be activated when targeted with removal, foremost could potentially die without affecting anything. But I do like the idea of a body that carries a similar effect.
Thank you kindly for the suggestions!!
