Oops I read that incorrectly. I do like the pace and aggression of this deck though!
And then that's when I side in Ranger's Guile
I had Hooded Hydra initially in the deck but replaced them with Scourge of Skola Vale. I felt like they would usually come out as a 1/1 or were too slow with Morph. I like Mistcutter Hydra better simply because I could take advantage of Solidarity of Heroes much earlier.
After some thought I believe Oracle of Bones is actually a much better fit than Flame-Wreathed Phoenix. I playtested last weekend and my opponent simply let me get my tribute effect off and my creature died.
Fanatic of Xenagos tested to be very ineffective but I managed to kill my opponent with a 7/7 t3 Satyr Hoplite with 2x Hardened Scales on the field and with a Nature's Panoply counter on it. Hero of Leina Tower or Satyr Grovedancer seems like a much better fit
I really like Hero of Leina Tower as well. It could potentially take Setessan Oathsworn place but I really like the interactions of heroic counters and Fall of the Hammer which triggers it and blows up an enemy creature. Hero of Leina Tower may limit that or they wouldn't be used in the same turn. It's definitely a great suggestion.
Aww, I thought Howl of the Horde copied spells multiple times. Well that's scrapped. Become Immense is a front runner as a replacement but you're absolutely right Crater's Claws has the flexibility to be used as a finisher and regular removal.
Ranger's Guile may find it's way into the main deck soon enough. I haven't been able to test this live yet. I'm actually heading to the card store to pick up this entire deck!
Also someone earlier suggest Nylea, God of the Hunt whom does something similar in that it gives everyone trample and can be an indestructible creature on the field. However I'd argue that it costs 1 colorless mana more rather than costing 3 mana for the Tuskguard Captain and it can block right away. It can also give itself counters although it is still a little slower than the rest of the deck. It's primarily used as a Trample enabler.
