Oh I see and of course your tokens are invaluable. Although just 3 copies seems a little low. It feels more like sideboard material when you actually do run into a control deck.

Btw have you considered Eidolon of Countless Battles, since you run a lot of tokens, this guy can get ugly quick!

I would trim Negate since everything else is focused on putting tokens on the board and abuses the convoke/J.ascendancy combo and maybe 1 less magma jet?

My fix: -3 negate, -1 magma jet.

+1 vote from me.

Check out my Jeskai deck!

I'm not much of a Modern player by would Heliod's Pilgrim be of use to this deck?

In the previous version of this deck, I drew into mana way more than I really wanted to. Most of the spells are 2 cmc so ramping is not required.

Treasure Cruise may hurt my ability to pump up Spellheart Chimera. I felt like Divination would have been cast for around roughly the same cost either way.

I run a very similar deck and have done some extensive testing. Grindclock is far too slow, by the time I got it to even 2 counters I was losing badly. I prefer Mind Sculpt over Grindclock. I like the addition of Triton Tactics as i didn't realize that it untapped your creatures.

I'm not a big fan of Siren of the Silent Song but have you looked at Sigiled Starfish?

Hehe, i guess i can't get away from that card. I just figured if there are Fleecemane Lion on the field. There would probably be other chump fodders that can juts be sac'd instead of fleecemane. Seriously 10 cmc is a ton even with Delve. It may be my only option though.

Sideboard list completed, built around recursion against board wipes and Elspeth, Sun's Champion. ELSPETH! YOU DESTROYER OF WORLDS!

Anafenza, the Foremost, Elspeth, Sun's Champion, Drown in Sorrow, Anger of the Gods, Fleecemane Lion appear to be the biggest threat to this deck.

The recursion cards, Dutiful Return and March of the Returned can counter board wipes.

Hero's Downfall massacres Elspeth.

I've got no answer to Fleecemane Lion though

Shatter destroys Perilous Vault.

Anyone have any solutions to Fleecemane Lion?

Thank you!

I stumbled upon Lightning Volley and I think it actually fit the theme better and it's just down right evil in this deck! However the cost is 4 instead of 3 of Dragon Grip, but I do think Eternal Thirst has better uses so I'd rather go 2x Lightning Volley as a turn 4 combat trick that can potentially wipe out at least 2 creatures and give a creature additional chances to stack counters on Eternal Thirst.

Good lord, you're absolutely right! I would prefer to run this deck in this form, I may just stock up on Stoke the Flames as sideboard material.

Dead Drop is nice but it seems like a huge reach since there is no mechanism for effectively and intentionally dumping cards in the graveyarf. Murderous Cut I think works more effectively for removing mid game threats.
