hullos lord of tokens

woo, time to make an interesting intro to my mediocre at best profile

fluff

I seem to as of recently only play token decks.I am also a strictly / player, all decks I play have to have one of those colors no matter what. don't know why I like those colors I literately started playing magic with a how many cool dragons can I shove into this deck kind of deck (how is that not an archtype) and you guessed it it was mono red. yep, great story I know. over time I would eventually move to a / deck (hey at least we got one of the colors right?) this was all about Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury and Dragonlord Kolaghan, it was meh, cool, but meh. I only got into standard when I saw a cool deck that I wanted to build that was apparently competitive back then, i forget what it was to the day. After attempting to make a mono white humans deck, lets just say at the time that deck was not that great; I gave up on my hopes of making a competitive deck and made the best deck ever when shadows and eldritch moon came out the most meta deck ever, W/B grave tokens, yeah, I know its bad. but I loved it and it hooked me on magic (that was not the original decklist, the original was much worse). after a while I managed to get some cash and made my first "competitive" good ol' spirits; the deck was great especially with all the b/W control going around (and yes I did want to build that first). after that deck did fantastic it eventually would fall into a bad meta for it against aggro, graveyard interaction and emerge I had to change. I eventually picked / counters, worst mistake ever, the deck was good by all means, I just had no fun playing it and so I had to stop playing it and after a while I stopped playing standard and magic in general. this was until I "found" modern. I had saved up some money and looked at modern to maybe make my comeback.

now that you have heard my whole life story i have been looking for a modern deck and as of yet I still have not made my choice of deck. Instead just looking at all the past and current decks to see what I want i want to build. I also have looked at a million / decks you know death and taxs some eldrazi, tokens, control, soul sisters and what knot. I would love any suggestion that has / in it of course.

my favorite cards in modern are Sorin, Solemn Visitor and Sorin, Lord of Innistrad I also like Lingering Souls. in standard its Bontu the Glorified.

I mean just look at him, i just wish his cards where better; not that they are bad just not the best.enter image description here

If you want any help with deck I will try my best, I am best at standard and modern decks so preferably those.

first off, this deck is not standard legal, you would be best off putting it under casual because sol ring is banned in almost all formats. second, you have a very high mana cost deck and you don't have to much to play on turn 2 or 3 that will make an impact since you seem so set on protection your angels i would recommend Selfless Spirit this cards is a great early play and will do well protection your angels. another cool angel is Seraph of the Sword it pretty much just cant die in combat. other cards you may like are Gods Willing and Archangel Avacyn  Flip both protect your creatures.

This deck idea is good but often needs Start / Finish to get the job done. the card is great because it gives you more tokens and kills an guy. not to mention you have some embalm cats so you can just sac those and bring them back sometimes stronger.

Ok, if you have 2 extra cards the first thing you should take out is Always Watching notice it says nontoken. as for suggestions one card is Vault of the Archangel great card lifelink and deathtouch make all tokens threats and awkward to block or attack into. also Sorin, Solemn Visitor is a great buff and gives lifelink also note that it is till you next turn so it also good for blocks.

A few good cards that could be considered are Nebelgast Herald but that's the only really cheap one. The other expensive ones are Kira, Great Glass-Spinner and Geist of Saint Traft both are optional and very good but if you do decide to use one I would recommend only 1 or 2 in the deck each. another option in this deck that could be very good is if you splash green, but of course that makes the deck 3 times more expensive. The cards would be Collected Company (literally gets any creature in your deck even if they don't have flash, making cards such as Selfless Spirit good) Noble Hierarch and Gavony Township. All amazing cards but again very expensive. if you feel a little crazy you could also try Dragonlord Ojutai.

I would recommend Thalia's Lancers its a great card that will allow you to choose from half the angels in your deck. Also note that it says legendary card so you can get your one legendary land as well.

I love the idea of Sram's Expertise in the deck it, its a great card also one of my favorites. but I have tested the deck a bit and you only have 5 3 cmc cards to cast off of it. Of course you can go lower than three but most are instants that you don't want at sorcery speed as for all the 1-2 cmc enchantment you generally only get one in opening hand and have cast it on turn 1-2 so you cant get them with it. This makes having 4 of them less optimal.

Also with legions landing I agree with some previous comments that as a one of it is good; but otherwise without the other 2 Bitterblossom you lack the 1/1-2/2 flyers that the deck needs to win especially because you also lack Spectral Procession (witch is fine but if you want to get by without it you need the 2 Bitterblossom ). Mostly the deck wins off of those 1/1 flyers, the 1/1 on the ground just will not be winning you games with only Intangible Virtue and MAYBE one other plains walker buff, they instead are there to chump block. that's why you need the other Bitterblossom in the deck so you get those win cons consistently. also I would recommend doing something about the awkward Sram's Expertise so that if you don't have souls or spear its a borderline dead draw maybe Gideon of the Trials. Other than those two cards I like the plains Walkers especially Elspeth, Sun's Champion great card in the deck.

I have thought about Marionette Master a good amount. if it where to be in the deck it would be in place of the gearhulk, and that's fine but I don't know which is better. I am thinking master might be a little better but then its not as accessible without the synergies with Inventors' Fair to find him so i'm not sure yet. about Renegade's Getaway I already have Syndicate Trafficker for indestructible and is too price for just one servo. while it would be good to help the Herald of Anguish survive I cant cast it the same turn so he will most likely still be hit with removal.
